Brain Tumour Support NZ Brainy Beanies Campaign

‘Created with love, by someone who cares’

Brain Tumour Support NZ (BTSNZ) has launched its annual campaign, Brainy Beanies 2023, aimed at raising awareness and funds for brain cancer patients and their families. BTSNZ is a charity that provides support, education, and advocacy to people affected by brain tumours in New Zealand.

Brainy Beanies 2023 is a nationwide call to action that encourages people to create or purchase and wear a Brainy Beanie to show their support for brain cancer patients and their families. We have a call out to Kiwi handcrafters to design and make their own original beanies and donate to us.

Each beanie has a Brainy Beanie tag sewn onto it and will be displayed in an exhibition at The Meteor Theatre in Hamilton from 3 to 7 May 2023. May is Brain Tumour Awareness month. The beanies will be available for purchase online with all proceeds going towards BTSNZ's Brain Box care packages.

Trustee Sarah Gibb says “Every Beanie will be handmade, created with love, by someone who cares, for someone who will be very grateful. The fact that no Brainy Beanie will be the same reflects the uniqueness of our brain tumour patient community. Our mission is to ensure that no one in New Zealand has to face brain cancer alone, and we need the support of our community to make that happen."

Brain tumours are devastating diseases that affect hundreds of New Zealanders every year. BTSNZ is committed to providing support and resources to those affected by brain tumours, including patients, caregivers, and families. The organisation's services include support groups, peer support and educational resources.

Brainy Beanies 2023 is a unique opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organisations to show their support. BTSNZ encourages everyone to join the movement and create or purchase a beanie today.
