Our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Brain Tumour Support NZ is committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Aotearoa’s founding document. We recognize the importance of this treaty and the role it plays in shaping our society and our organization.

We acknowledge that that there are significant disparities in health outcomes between Māori and non-Māori and are committed to addressing these disparities.

As an organization, we are committed to promoting the principles of partnership, participation, and protection that underpin the Treaty of Waitangi.

Our commitment is reflected in our Values and our approach to providing support and advocacy for those affected by brain tumours in New Zealand. We are committed to working in collaboration with Māori to ensure that our services are accessible, effective and culturally appropriate.
