Our support communities offer a safe online space where you can connect with others who know what you’re going through.

Whether you’re living with a brain tumour or supporting someone who is, you’ll find a welcoming community of people who have been there and understand how you feel.

You can ask questions, get support from others and share your own experiences at any time of the day or night – it’s a safe space where you can be totally open. Or you can simply read people’s stories, knowing that there are others right there with you.

Facebook Closed Groups

We have three private Facebook groups which aim to provide a safe and supportive space for anyone affected by a brain tumour - patients, caregivers, family/whānau or friends - anyone who’s dealing day to day with the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis. There are separate groups for patients, caregivers and parents of children with brain tumours.

The groups are monitored by the Brain Tumour Support NZ team, but are primarily a peer to peer forum led by the members.

If you would like to join our online support community, please click on the appropriate button and it will take you to that Facebook group. He waka eke noa - We’re in it together

These groups offer a safe online space where you can connect with others who know what you’re going through. Whether you’re living with a brain tumour or supporting someone who is, you’ll find a welcoming community of people who have been there and understand how you feel.

You can ask questions, get support from others and share your own experiences – it’s a safe space where you can be totally open. We always advertise our upcoming support group meetings on our Facebook page and in the two closed group pages for patients and caregivers, or you can download a meeting schedule here. To register for the meetings go to our Events page. We hope to see you there!

First Tuesday Bereavement Group

Our online bereavement support group meets via Zoom on the first Tuesday of each month. The group offers a safe, supportive forum for people who have lost a loved one to a brain tumour to connect and support one another. The group is facilitated by our Support Coordinator and operates on a drop-in basis, so that people can come whenever they feel the need to.
