Kate Coatsworth and her Beating the Track for Brain Cancer team wowed their way through the Waikato last week culminating in consecutive miniwalks over the weekend. The nation’s general election took second priority for participants in Miniwalk Meremere, a 9km stretch along the banks of the Waikato river ending up in Rangiriri. The second walk, Miniwalk Hamilton, attracted a record number of participants, many from Kate’s home town of Thames in the Coromandel.

The two Waikato miniwalks completed 6 weeks of walking and biking the Te Araroa Trail, raising awareness about brain tumours and raising funds for Brain Tumour Support NZ. The team now head south with some tough tramps through the centre of the North Island awaiting them.
