Make May Matter

Brain Tumour Awareness Month

A brain tumour diagnosis brings fear and uncertainty. Your life has changed from that moment and there's no going back. No Going Back invites people to show their support and fundraise by embarking on a challenge ,creating a team or organisation fundraiser or by sponsoring others who are fundraising.

May is recognised around the world as Brain Tumour Awareness Month. Throughout the month of May we are encouraging our community to fundraise or to donate through our fundraising platform NoGoingBack.nz and help us raise awareness about the needs of brain tumour sufferers.

Make May Matter — a time to shine a light on the challenges faced by those living with a brain tumour, to honour their journeys, and to rally together in support.

At nogoingback.nz, there are many ways you can make a difference. Whether it’s creating your own fundraiser, buying a beanie, or making a donation, every action helps provide vital support to those who need it most.

One of our most cherished services is the Brain Box — a thoughtfully curated care package filled with information, comfort items, and self-care tools for people newly diagnosed with a brain tumour. The impact of this simple box can be profound:

“Having one of these turn up was a wonderful distraction and gift in the crappiest of times. Newly diagnosed, newly walking a path in life that I had no idea where it would take me, with no answers and nowhere really to turn for reassurance medically.
I’ll never forget the moment the Brain Box arrived. It brought me a sense of peace in a time of chaos.
All the info leaflets, the self-care bits — they let me just stop, breathe, and feel supported. I don’t know who funded my box, but I am so thankful.”

Your support helps us continue delivering Brain Boxes, our core service, to more people facing this isolating and overwhelming diagnosis

Organise a Wear A Hat Day event at work, school or uni. Get together with family and friends and wear your silliest hat, or even a Brainy Beanie! It’s a great way to start the conversation and raise awareness and funds for Brain Tumour Support NZ. Choose any day in May!

Movie Night

Got a movie you want to see? Why not organise to see it with friends, family, work, sports club, or school community and raise money at the same time? Many movie theatres offer special fundraiser rates and session times.
