Walk Description
Miniwalk Wellington will start at the Mt Victoria Lookout, taking in the glorious views of Wellington City. We follow the Southern Walkway down Mt Victoria, along Coromandel St, through Truby King Park to Melrose Park, the start of the 4.5km walk. From here we cross Melrose Park and climb Mt Albert before heading back down to Island Bay on Wellington’s wild and wonderful south coast. This is the last leg of the North Island part of Te Araroa Trail and there will be a short finishing ceremony at the conclusion of the walk which all are welcome to attend.
Please Note:
1. Parts of this walk are on unpaved tracks which can be slippery and contain tripping hazards such as tree roots, rocks and uneven surfaces;
2. The walk features some steep slopes. A good level of fitness is required.
